🌴 Four Seasons Tamarindo & Mexico City: A Luxury Escape Worth Every Minute

✨ TL;DR:

Yes, Four Seasons Tamarindo is absolutely worth the journey. From the cosmopolitan charm of Four Seasons Mexico City to the secluded beauty of Tamarindo, this trip blends culture, relaxation, and world-class service in one unforgettable experience. Getting there takes a few steps, but once you arrive, you’ll understand why it’s one of my top destinations in the world.

🌆 Stop 1: Four Seasons Mexico City

Our adventure began with a flight from Houston (IAH) to Mexico City (MEX) for a one-night stay at Four Seasons Mexico City—a timeless property located in the heart of the city’s cultural corridor.

Even with just one evening, Mexico City made a lasting impression. The tree-lined boulevards, lush parks, and fountains around every corner made me wish we had more time to explore.

We checked in, then walked across the street to the Ritz-Carlton Mexico City for dinner at Ling Ling on the 56th floor—yes, sushi in Mexico City, and it was spectacular.

If you’ve never added a pre- or post-stay in Mexico City before visiting the coast, I highly recommend it. It breaks up the travel and lets you experience one of the most vibrant capitals in the world.

🌴 Stop 2: Four Seasons Tamarindo

The next morning, we took a short one-hour flight from Mexico City to Manzanillo (ZLO), where our Four Seasons driver greeted us at the tiny airport. The 45-minute drive includes a 20-minute stretch through a private jungle reserve—an exciting prelude to paradise.

From the moment you arrive, you understand why Four Seasons Tamarindo is unlike any resort in Mexico. The open-air “lobby” sits atop a cliff with panoramic ocean views, setting the tone for what’s to come.

Our one-bedroom suite was beyond stunning—complete with a walk-in closet, indoor and outdoor showers, a soaking tub, and a full-sized private pool. Because the resort spans hundreds of acres, transportation is by golf cart, requested via your in-room iPad. Service is prompt and seamless; we never waited more than ten minutes.

A major perk: gratuities are included, and tipping is politely declined, which lets you truly relax and enjoy exceptional service without ever reaching for your wallet.

🍽️ Dining, Experiences & Activities

We dined at every restaurant, visited the spa, and even joined a few of the curated resort activities. The Reserve Tour with a certified botanist was fascinating, and the Wine Tasting class introduced us to some surprisingly excellent Mexican wines.

My husband played golf one morning while I tagged along as the “Passenger Princess.” The views along the fairways, winding through forest and coastline, were spectacular.

The resort’s activity calendar offers a thoughtful mix of complimentary and paid experiences, making it easy to tailor your stay. Whether you crave adventure, culture, or total relaxation, Tamarindo delivers it in the most luxurious way possible.

❤️ Why It’s Worth the Journey

Before this trip, I hesitated to visit because Tamarindo seemed difficult to reach. Now, I can confidently say: it’s not only manageable, it’s beyond worth it.

Four Seasons Tamarindo delivers everything you expect from the brand: elevated design, exceptional dining, and refined comfort...but it’s the warmth of the people that makes it unforgettable. Every staff member treated us like family returning home, and that heartfelt hospitality elevated the experience to something rare.

It’s now officially one of my Top 3 destinations worldwide, and currently holds the #1 spot on my list. If you’re seeking the perfect blend of nature, privacy, and sophistication—this is it.
